The Detroit Geographical Expedition: What is its Relevance Now?
A number of colleagues have written to inquire about this talk, and we are delighted to share video documentation of the event which took place at the Graduate Center, CUNY Earth and Environmental Science Program on October 16, 2014.
The evening’s conversation with Gwendolyn Warren was the first of two related events organized by the New York City Geographical Expedition and Institute over two days called Urgent Data, Community Solidarities, and Activist Scholarship. The second event was a full day workshop that brought together Ms. Warren, along with NYC based activists, community-based organizations, and academics who have developed research methods and outreach tools for popular education, for democratizing research, and for urgent political change. We were incredibly honored to host Gwendolyn Warren at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
